Team Leader- Infrastructure Solutions and Support

The Team Leader - IT Infrastructure Solutions and Support will assist the Head of IT in managing the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of banking applications systems whilst ensuring the security, availability and reliability of critical systems.

Main responsibilities

  1. Assist the Head of IT to ensure smooth operation and support of all banking applications
  2. Configure, manage, and support banking-specific infrastructure components, such as core banking systems, transaction processing systems, and secure communication channels.
  3. Manage and support virtualization environments, data centres, and cloud services in line with the bank’s technology strategy
  4. Support the implementation of new technologies and infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet the bank's security, compliance, and operational standards.
  5. Ensure all IT infrastructure adheres to banking regulations.
  6. Participate in regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
  7. Manage and coordinate 24/7 support to ensure operational availability of critical infrastructure services.
  8. Ensure incidents and problems are resolved efficiently, fully documented, and escalate as necessary.
  9. Adhere to governance, security, and operational best practices.
  10. Ensure compliance to IT Infrastructure daily health checks and reporting
  11. Put governance processes and controls in place and ensure compliance
  12. Identify, own, track and mitigate risk that could potentially impact IT services and compliance
  13. Contribute to refining infrastructure standards and processes
  14. Responsible for the implementation of security for complex voice/data network technologies, computing platforms, collaboration/messaging platforms and business applications based on provided procedures.
  15. Oversees the execution of established business critical processes and procedures
  16. Responsible for all aspects of people leadership; setting expectations, coaching, counseling, developing, evaluating, feedback, discipline
  17. Prepare Budgets
  18. Continually seeks opportunities to reduce operational costs and track productivity initiatives via component consolidations, contract negotiations.
  19. Ensure timely return of Bank of Mauritius reporting
  20. Perform any other related duties, as may be assigned.

  5. Strong knowledge of banking-specific IT systems, including core banking platforms, ATMs, payment gateways, and SWIFT networks
  6. Familiarity with IT systems life cycle management, from design through to implementation and management
  7. Knowledge of financial processes, including budget planning, expenditure forecasting and reporting
  8. Strong Planning, Negotiation and Communication skills
  9. Leading and Supervising

Experience & Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  2. Industry specific professional qualifications.
  3. 5+ years of relevant experience in the banking industry including at least 4 years supervisory experience.
